Women’s Soccer Unable to Score on Road Falling to Hutchinson

For the third game the Dodge City women’s soccer team faced off with a ranked KJCCC opponent as they traveled to take on #20 Hutchinson Blue Dragons.

The Conquistadors would fall in the contest to Hutchinson via a 6-0 decision the loss sends the Conqs to 1-3-1 on the season.

In the initial minutes of the contest the Conqs found their way to a solid offensive push firing a few shots but Hutchinson responded taking control of the contest and scoring the first goal of the game in the eighth minute. The game remained just 1-0 until with around 13 minutes left before halftime when Hutchinson grabbed their second goal and would add another to make it 3-0 at intermission. In the second half the Blue Dragons continued to push against the Conqs and ultimately tallied three more goals as the Conqs fell 6-0.
 
The Conqs were outshot 24-8 in the contest as the Blue Dragons had a total of 14 shots on goal in the contest. Joelle Brand recorded eight saves in the loss, while both Femke Wiedeman and Laura Gomez each had a pair of shots.
 
Up next the Conqs tough stretch of games continue as they will host #6 Butler on Saturday, September 17th at 5:30 pm.
