Women's Basketball Open Region VI Playoffs at Coffeyville

The Pratt women's basketball team opens NJCAA Region VI playoffs in Coffeyville, KS on March 4. They will face the Red Ravens of Coffeyville for the third time this year. The Beavers defeated Coffeyville back on January 7 with a score of 69-57. The team traveled to Coffeyville here recently and were defeated 69-58.

"I think they are playing well right now," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Eric Rodewald. We competed well down the stretch the last couple of weeks. We played good at Coffeyville and had a chance to potentially win the game. We must survive and advance.

The Beavers finished the regular season 11-18 overall and 6-18 in conference play. They finished regular season play on March 1 at Cowley and lost a hard-fought battle 78-71. Coffeyville finished 18-12 overall and 14-10 in conference play. They enter the playoffs after losing to Northwest Tech 68-60 on March 1.

"We have to make shots and we have to limit their scoring opportunities and block out better," said Coach Rodewald. "I think we will be alright it will be just a matter of who executes better and who makes more shots."

Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm on the campus of Coffeyville. The winner will advance to the second round on Tuesday, March 7 at Hutchinson.
