Beavers Have Record Breaking Weekend at Regional Meet

The Beaver track and field team traveled to the NJCAA Region VI Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend February 17-18. Several school records were broken at the meet as well as several more student athletes qualifying for the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.The highlight of the weekend was  Branden Colglazier winning the Region VI and KJCCC West high jump title with a jump of 1.99m (6 feet and 6.3 inches). Next up for the Beavers will be the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 3rd and 4th in Topeka, KS.

Men

Brock Herrman: Weight Throw

12.49m 16th in Region 6 and 10th in the KJCCC West (this breaks a school record from 1990)

Collin Turley: 3000M

8:59.28 for 9th overall in Region 6 and 5th overall in KJCCC west  (Lifetime and Season Best time)

1:58.24 (9th overall in Region 6 and 2nd overall in the KJCCC West)

 

Davon Beckles: 800M

5km- 19:10.51 ( best time of the season) 5th overall in Region 6 in a NJCAA National Qualifying time. 4th in the KJCCC west 

3km- 11:16.47 9th overall in the Region 6 and 5th in the KJCCC West. 

 

Serenity Jackson 

200m- 24.98 5th overall in region 6 and 4th overall in KJCCC West

400m- 56.49 (School Record/ Lifetime/ Season Best) Placed 3rd in Region 6 and 3rd in the KJCCC West

 

Mikayla Henry

60m- 8.04 for 17th in Region 6 and 8th in the KJCCC West

200m- 26.68 17th in region 6 and 9th in KJCCC West.
