Men's And Women's Postseason Schedule And Ticketing Information Released

The Lady Warriors started the conference season with a blemish and has been unstoppable since. They have now won 21 straight conference games and 14 straight overall. Sterling has not lost a game since the new year and that is a trend they hope to continue. The Warriors finished up the regular and conference season at Oklahoma Wesleyan University where they took care of business once again in a convincing 86-53 win.

Sterling won almost every quarter in convincing fashion. After 10 minutes of play, Sterling held onto a slim 18-15 lead. Sterling jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead as Karsen Schultz and Kali Briar hit shots early. OKWU came firing right back and tied the game at 11. Sterling finished outscoring the Eagles 7-4 over the last 4 minutes of the first quarter and took the 18-15 lead into the break. All 5 Warrior starters scored in the period, led by Taya Wilson with 5 points.

Coach Bassett must have said something to her team to get them fired up in the huddle. Sterling turned their three point lead into a nine point lead in 5 minutes, but then did not allow OKWU to score in the final 5 minutes of the half and pushed their lead to 17 at the break. Bailey Albright caught fire in the second frame scoring 10 points and snatching two steals. At the midway point of the game it was Sterling with a 41-24 lead.

The Warriors ended the first half on a 10-0 run and continued that into the third quarter. Sterling scored on 10 straight possessions to start the quarter and opened up a 32 point lead. After outscoring the Eagles 23-9 in the second quarter, they did just as well in the third by more than doubling the scoring output of the Eagles, 28-13. Schultz had the hot hand scoring 10 of her game high 22 in the quarter. Sterling was up big heading into the final 10 minutes of play. Sterling was cruising to another conference win 69-37.

The fourth quarter was much more evenly matched as Sterling went to their bench midway through. Sterling's largest lead was 42 before OKWU was able to bring it back to 33 as time expired. Sterling cruised to another conference victory, 86-53.

Schultz led all scorers with 22 and was closely followed by Albright and Wilson with 18. Wilson added 15 rebounds to her season stats, almost tallying as many rebounds as the entire Eagles team, she added 4 assists as well. Albright led the team with 3 steals and added 5 rebounds of her own.

Sterling is now 24-4 this season and heads into the KCAC tournament with the number 1 seed and will play McPherson College Thursday evening in the Gleason Center at 7 pm. All tickets for the game must be purchased through the KCAC ticketing website.
