Women's Soccer Kicks off Season with a Win

Neosho County Women's Soccer travelled to Beatrice, Nebraska to play Southeast CC.

Southeast started the better team and opened up the scoring inside the first 20 minutes with a deserved goal. Neosho failed to deal with the ball on the edge of the box when it should have been cleared, the ball fell to a Southeast midfield player who hit the ball first and found the back of the net.

Neosho started to get into the game and responded well after the opening goal. With 3 minutes remaining in the first half Neosho was able to equalize the score after Myriam Zamora chased down a hopeful ball into the box, Myriam was able to steel the ball, before blasting it past the keeper.  One Minute later Neosho was able to take the lead, Lisbeth did well down the right hand side to get a cross into the box and find Lilly brown who dinked it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-1 just before half time.

Neosho started the second half a lot better than they did the first and were knocking on the door to put the game to bed. In the 67th minute Elizabeth Napoles made it 3-1 Neosho, Isabeau Hesselink hit a free kick that spilled out to Elizabeth who was able to put the rebound home.

Neosho managed the game well for the rest of the half and were able to come home with a 3-1 victory. Neosho County women's soccer face another tough game on Saturday when they travel to Allen County to take on the lady Red Devils.
