Cost of college went up for all students at Barton County Community College

Tuition and fees rose 3.7 percent for 2018-19 at Barton County Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kansas students paid $3,584 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $128 more than the $3,456 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 91 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 344 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2 million and 96 students took out student loans totaling more than $450,366.

Including all undergraduates (4,237), 1,619 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.4 million, and 405 students took out $2.2 million in federal student loans.
